The Stidham family from Howe

Eleven-year-old Dillon Stidham, who lives with Dandy Walker's syndrome, nominated his parents' home in Howe. The front yard is pretty bare, and the lawn isn't very inviting.

"[Dillon] loves to be outside, he loves to crawl around, so it would be nice to have a nice yard to sit out here and watch him, because he loves it," Amy says.

Staff Sgt. Jordan Willsey from Mishawaka

Staff Sgt. Jordan Willsey served two tours in Iraq and now leads other soldiers -- and local students. A 2000 Concord High School grad, he now works at Goshen High School as a JAG instructor, which stands for "Jobs for America's Graduates."

Jordan's Mishawaka yard is pretty basic: there's a hill and a sycamore tree, and a few shrubs line the porch. But there's something missing. A storm last fall took down a symbol that meant the world to him: his flag pole.

Nick and Shelby Kaufman each dealt with the tragic death of a partner. They were united by grief, but their love for each other slowly grew over time. Now, they're married and live in Elkhart with their two kids.

"We've done it together, and we started a new life for ourselves and our children, and for once things feel like they're coming together," Nick says.
