Hello, my names Lacey May, and I'm here trying to make my dad’s day. Our yard honestly isn’t too bad, I have seen a lot worse in my 22 years of living in this same house in Mishawaka. My dad has been through a lot, when I was in 8th grade the doctors found a brain tumor, which then lead to them diagnosing him with stage 4 cancer. After 9 years I couldn’t be more grateful because this year the doctors told us they don’t ever see the cancer returning. My dad is no longer able to work so he works on the yard the best he can but is limited to what he can do. I just want to give him what he deserves.

I reside in the community of the Near Northwest Neighborhood. We are the only home in the entire 600 block of Sherman. My wife and I invested in this foreclosed property two years ago and completed renovations in the interior that has stretched our budget. This neighborhood is one with numerous vacant historic homes that have the potential to be beautifully restored.
What a great impact landscaping would do for our home and neighborhood. The landscape improvements can set the tone others care for their yard properly. This would be a great start to preserve this historic neighborhood.
